E-MAIL: Roberta Knight, R.KNIGHT@larc.nasa.gov. NASA Langley Research Center plans to issue an IFB for Maintenance Augmentation Program, Building 1247E. The work to be performed includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Remove components from existing air dryer, complete the electrical design and drawings, provide and install contractor supplied components, install Government furnished components, field verify, checkout, and commission the air dryer. 2. All work associated with preparing wiring diagrams, furnishing all materials (except those specifically identified as Government furnished), installing, checking out, commissioning, and accepting of the electrical system required for modifying air dryer #2 located in Facility 1247E. 3. A complete electrical design shall be provided. Electrical drawings shall be prepared using the AutoCAD (Revision 13 or later) drafting system. At the completion of the contract, the contractor shall update the drawings to the as-built condition and shall provide an updated computer diskette and a full-size as-built original tracing of each electrical diagram. 4. Connection diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elementary diagrams, control diagrams, and schematics shall be drawn on 22 inch by 34 inch drafting paper which has the standard Langley Research Center title blocks. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000 and the effort shall be completed within 150 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a full and open competition and part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1731 and $7.0M respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB on or about June 3, 1998 with an anticipated offer closing date on or about July 3, 1998. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office757-864-2547. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet.
