Concrete. -- Work includes constructing cast-in-place reinforced concrete to encase modified steel truss members of existing storage dock for floating bulkhead gate; and b. Mechanical. -- Work includes: (1) Modifying existing floating bulkhead gate by removing existing pumps and motor, modifying existing valves, and furnishing and installing new pumps and piping; (2) Painting areas of floating bulkhead gate exterior where coating has deteriorated or disbonded; (3) Lowering floating bulkhead gate from stored position in storage dock using Government-furnished jacking system; (4) Testing modified floating bulkhead gate using a barge equipped with air compressors, engine-generator, and other equipment required to operate gate; (5) Test installing floating bulkhead gate in one spillway bay; (6) Furnishing and installing steel bars and plates on flanges and webs of truss members to modify steel trusses of existing storage dock for floating bulkhead gate. The estimated cost range of this project is $250,000 to $500,000. The location of this project is at Parker Dam, approximately 20 miles south of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, in San Bernardino County, California. The performance time for completion of this project is 180 days. The presolicitation notice (SF-1417) for this project is currently available. For this acquisition the standard industrial classification code is 1629 and the small business size standard is $13.5 million. The estimated issuance date of the solicitation is June 15, 1998. The estimated date for receipt of bids is July 16, 1998.
