PROJECT SIZE: This proposed contract is set-aside for 8(A) competition. Offers are solicited only from small business concerns expressly certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for participation in the SBA's 8(A) program and which meets the following criteria at the time of submission of offers: (1)SIC Code 1629 is specifically included in the offeror's approved business plan; and (2) the offeror's approved business plan is on file and serviced by either the Fresno or the San Francisco SBA District Office. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The project consists of all necessary construction and relocations related to the placement of an impervious cutoff wall 2,500 meters in the right bank (north) levee along the lower American River from Howe Avenue to Watt Avenue in the city and county of Sacramento. The design requires 2,200 meters of slurry cutoff wall and 300 meters of jet grouting cutoff wall with a maximum depth of 20 meters and a minimum width of 0.61 meters and 0.46 meters for the slurry wall and jet grouting wall, respectively. The type of utility relocations include storm drain pipes and water lines. For information regarding a tour of the site, bidders are directed to Section 00100 in the solicitation for information regarding the tour of the site. ORDERING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS Plans and specifications for this project must be ordered and the check received by the CUT OFF DATE of June 10, 1998, to ensure receipt of bid sets at a cost of $42.00 for the solicitation package. The solicitation package includes specifications and full size drawings. Orders received beyond the CUT OFF DATE, June 10, 1998, will not be honored. Plans and specifications will be mailed out on or about June 18, 1998. Because a limited number of sets will be reproduced, copies are limited to one set per firm. Payment by company check, certified check or money order made payable to the Finance and Accounting Officer, USAED, Sacramento. Requests must be submitted along with payment by mail, or in person to USAED, Sacramento, ATTN: Plan Room, 1325 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814-2922.
