Roache, Contract Specialist, (301) 504-1744 Correction: The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Economic Research Service (ERS) seeks a qualified contractor to conduct a study pertaining to the nutritional and health outcomes of food and nutrition assistance programs administered by the USDA. The overall goal of the study is to improve understanding of the effects of USDA's food and nutrition assistance programs on food consumption, nutrient availability and intakes, dietary quality, nutritional status and health outcomes. This study shall produce a document which USDA can use to: 1) answer questions concerning the diet, nutrition and health impacts of the food and nutrition assistance programs, 2) assess the state of scientific knowledge and 3) identify what can be done to improve our knowledge. The study is estimated to take approximately 18 months to complete. The anticipated solicitation release date is on or about May 20, 1998.
