Center-Aircraft Division, Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD has a
requirement for the acquisition of BRU-32 B/A and BRU-32 A/A Ejector
Bomb Racks (P/N's 1534AS100, 1534AS5000, and 1534AS7000) with
associated hooks and technical data for the F/A-18E/F and F/A-18C/D
aircraft. Under Title 10, U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR
6.302-1, Only one or more responsible source(s), Solicitation
N00421-98-R-1061 will be issued to Klune Industries, Inc., Spanish
Fork, UT and Lucas Aerospace Cargo Systems, Jamestown, ND for FY98 and
FY99 requirements since they are currently the only formally qualified
sources of the BRU-32. Approximately seventy-seven (77) P/N 1534AS7000
and two-hundred ten (210) P/N 1534AS7000 are required in the base and
first option years, respectively. Each of these contract years will
include options to order additional quantities, not to exceed
four-hundred twenty-three (423) bomb racks in total. Required delivery
will begin at an approximate rate of twenty-six (26) bomb racks per
month on 01 July 1999. Qualification procedures include production of
first article test units and successfully undergoing first article
testing and analysis. These qualification procedures are expected to
take approximately twenty (20) months. Unqualified sources are
encouraged to participate in the full and open competition for the FY00
through FY03 requirements identified in Solicitation N00421-98-R-1194.
