Petroleum & Water Business Area of the US Army TACOM-TARDEC in Warren,
MI is seeking to identify sources that are capable of providing
emerging and current technologies that will advance the Army's present
capabilities in the following areas: fuel and water tank gauging and
fuel quality monitoring. We are interested in automated or digitized
tank gauging systems for both hard-walled tanks and collapsible fuel
and water bags (500-gallon to 210,000-gallon size). These
remote-gauging systems shall be capable of being linked into a computer
database through radio waves, phone transmittal, etc. or through a
receiver that can connect to a computer mainframe. The remote tank
level indicator shall be capable, but not limited to, collecting the
following data: probe status, probe ID, tank level, temperature, time
and date of reading and battery, or power source, condition. The
indicator shall have a port for sampling. The fuel quality analyzer
shall be capable of measuring oil deterioration and the amount of
engine wear particles. The system shall be small, rugged, portable and
also include a port for sampling. The remote tank level gauge and the
fuel quality analyzer can be considered two separate systems, but both
shall have a similar way of transferring data from the gauge to a
computer database. Please provide any general drawings, diagrams, or
brochures that would assist in describing your products or ideas.
Materials shall be mailed to: US ARMY TACOM, ATTN: AMSTA-TR-D/210,
Carey Mitchell, Warren, MI 48397-5000. Currently there is no funding in
this area, but our interest in investigating advanced technologies may
eventually result in procurement action to replace the existing fuel
and water equipment. If you specifically request, all the information
and documentation will be treated as proprietary. The U.S. Army will
retain all information and documentation provided. The effort you
expend and information you submit in response to this request shall be
provided at no cost to the Government. Any information submitted under
this effort will become property of the U.S. Government. (0138) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0018 19980520\B-0003.SOL)
