Boscovich, Contracting Officer or Bid Issue Clerk, (510) 535-7242 DTCG88-98-623617 INSTALL FIRE PROTECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT USCT STATION HUMBOLDT BAY, SAMOA, CA: Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to install fire protection improvements. The work includes but is not limited to the following: A) Replacement of existing 3" water meter assembly connected to the 6" water main entering the station. Including demolition and removal of existing equipment and enclosure; furnishing and installing a new 6" fire service meter, 6" OS & Y valves, and enclosure for the meter assembly. B) Modifications to the existing underground water distribution system to provide a dedicated non-potable fire service system for providing water to dedicated fire hydrants. This system will supplement the existing potable water fire hydrant system. Including demolition and removal of existing underground piping and valves with connections to existing systems; furnishing and installing a new fire hydrant; modification of existing garage building to construct a new fire pump room; furnishing and installing a complete fire pump system with controllers; emergency power connection, fire alarm connections and accessories; and furnishing and installing a complete water storage tank system. Installation of a complete automatic fire sprinkler system for four (4) buildings. Including furnishing and installing new underground 6" supply lines with Post Indicator valves terminating with a flanged connection; and furnishing and installing fire sprinkler supply piping. Estimated range is $250,000 to $500,000. The cost for Plans and Specifications will be $45.00; Cashier's Check or Money Order only, payable to the U.S. Coast Guard. No Personal or Company Checks Will Be Accepted. The performance period is 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to large and small business participation. The applicable SIC is 1711.
