18 -- REFURBISHMENT AND CHECK-OUT OF SATELLITE SOL F04701-98-R-0009 POC Contracting Officer, Robert A. Bruce (310) 297-2928 The Space and Missile Systems Center Advanced Systems Directorate, SMC/AD, intends to issue RFP F04701-98-R-0009 to procure enhancements to and completion of a panchromatic/multispectral imaging satellite (NASW 4944, i.e. Clark satellite), initially developed under a NASA contract. Completion of the satellite includes integration of the spacecraft bus, payloads, mission hardware and software; completion of all environmental testing of the spacecraft; integration of the spacecraft onto the selected booster; and on-orbit check out. The contractor shall possess the capability to provide for the handling of classified hardware and software up to the SECRET level. The incumbent contractor is Orbital Science Corporation.
