Cynthia.Duncan@bep/treas/gov. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is
currently seeking sources for an alternate substrate for the printing
of U.S. Currency. Specifically, the Bureau is interested in a substrate
which will provide for improved durability of currency along with the
ability to implement unique counterfeit deterrent features. In
addition, the Bureau is seeking inks for use with an alternate
substrate. For initial screening purposes, interested parties are
requested to submit preliminary samples and/or brief technical
descriptions (1-2 paragraphs) plus cost information for the purchase of
larger test quantities to the BEP, Securities Technology Institute,

procured through simplified acquisition (small purchase) for further
