Spud, (4) Renew Barge Spud Well Liners and Preserve Spud, (5) Remove,
Inspect, Repair, and Reinstall Tail Shafts -- Shaft Removal,
Inspection, and Reinstallation, (6) Fabricate Shaft -- Starboard Shaft,
(7) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings, (8) Remove and Reinstall
Propellers, (9) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Steering Rudder
Assemblies, (10) Clean and Test Grid Coolers, (11) Overhaul and Test
Valves, (12) Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel and Hydraulic Oil Tanks --
Fuel Removal, Disposal, and Replenishment, (13) Inspect, Overhaul, and
Test Barge Boat Davits, (14) Inspect, Overhaul, and Test Allied Crane,
(15) Clean and Inspect Sewage Tank, (16) Inspect Various Deck Fittings,
(17) Renew Anti-Sweat Coating System, (18) Preserve Barge Buoy Deck,
(19) Prepare and Prime Main, 01, and 02 Decks, (20) Preserve Underwater
Body (Tender and Barge), (21) Preserve Freeboard (Tender and Barge),
(22) Provide Temporary Logistics, and (23) Routine Drydocking.
Indefinite items include but are not limited to the following: (1)
Welding Repairs, (2) Renew Starboard Shaft Coupling, (3) Perform Shaft
Repairs, (4) Renew Strut Barrel, (5) Perform Propeller Minor Repair
and Reconditioning, (6) Renew Rudder Lower Bearing Trunk, (7) Renew
Rudder Upper Bearing Housing and Upper Bearing Housing Support, (8)
Remove and Dispose of Additional Diesel Fuel, (9) Blast Clean Diesel
Fuel Tanks, (10) Clean and Inspect Sewage Tank -- Minor Coating Repairs
-- up to 10% of Sewage Tank, (11) Ultransonic Testing, and (12)
Laydays. Vessel's homeport is Owensboro, KY. Place of performance is
restricted to the Western Rivers of the United States. The "Western
Rivers" means the navigable portions of the Mississippi River and its
tributaries above mile 0 of the Lower Mississippi River. Navigable
tributaries of the Mississippi River include only the waterways within
the areas of jurisdiction of Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Facilities
as described in Light List Volume V (COMDTINST M16502.5), and the
Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the Mobile River. This
includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal Waterway connected to
the "Western Rivers," but specifically excludes unprotected or open
waters such a Mobile Bay, Lake Borne, or the Gulf of Mexico. Vessel's
availability schedule is 14 SEP 1998 for 54 (fifty-four) calendar days.
Vessel is a 65 Foot Tender and 100 Foot Barge . All referenced
documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500,
Norfolk, VA. A charge of $100.00 is required in the form of a certified
check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested
drawings. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit
bids for the subject requirements. Plans and specifications will be
issued on or after 8 JUNE 98. All responsible sources may submit a bid
which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard.
