Hunter/Killer (MH/K) Advanced Technology Demonstration (ATD)-System
Integration. It is the intent of the CECOM Acquisition
Center-Washington to issue an RFP for integration of
government-and-contractor furnished components, assemblies and
subsystems into a Mine Hunter/Killer system for demonstration in an
Advanced Technology Demonstration (ATD). The Mine Hunter/Killer system
shall be highly capable of detecting and neutralizing individual
anti-tank mines while protecting the crew via teleoperation. The system
must also be safe and lead to a supportable and affordable design in
future program phases. The system integration contractor will be
required to design the semi-autonomous neutralizer delivery mechanism,
system control computer, power distribution, crew workstations in the
control vehicle, and interfaces with government-furnished equipment
(i.e., detectors, neutralizers, host (HMMWV) and control (M113 APC)
vehicles, and teleoperation kits). In addition, the contractor will be
required to provide support of the deliverables at the ATD. A draft
RFP was issued in October of 1997. However, due to program changes,
there were no formal replies to contractor comments. The upcoming RFP,
number DAAB07-98-R-6002, will only be available on the CECOM
Acquisition Center's Business Opportunities Page. NO HARD COPIES WILL
BE PROVIDED. The RFP should be available on or about 17 June 1998 for
downloading from the website, located at
http://acbop.monmouth.army.mil. Electronic proposals will be due 31
July 1998. There will be a pre-proposal conference at FT Belvoir,
Virginia within 10 days after the RFP is issued. The details for the
pre-proposal conference, including date, time and location, will be
included in the RFP. (0139) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0001 19980522\A-0001.SOL)
