related Shipboard Networking. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems
Center, San Diego is seeking sources for and is planning to acquire
Network Technology Integration Laboratory (NTIL) and related shipboard
networking support services. The proposed contract will be an
indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery type contract with a base year
and 4 option years. It is a follow on to Contract N66001-95-D-0007,
awarded under the 8A Program. Only 8A firms and small business firms
are being sought. However, small businesses will not be considered
unless there are no capable 8A firms. The applicable SIC Code is 8711
and $20 million. Due date: 4 June 1998. The objective of the NTIL and
related networking projects is to develop an overall shipboard network
architecture and to evaluate commercial off-the-shelf products that
support the architecture. This will involve the design, test and
implementation of Multi-Level Security high speed backbone networks
capable of linking together multiple sub networks. Documentation,
maintenance, and training support shall be provided by the contractor.
Solutions to the requirement for combining voice, video and data
transfer will be required. Support will be provided for a number of
independent but technology interactive programs. Some of these programs
are: AdCon-21 Multi Level Security Risk Reduction, LPD-17 Ship Wide
Area Network IPT, Network Architecture and Security Focus Groups;
Project HIPNET (Joint U.S.-France evaluation of ATM); support of ATM
installations aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt and at Naval Strike and Air
Warfare Center, Fallon, NV; ATM and MLS Security Trade Studies; ATM
Network Design for ships, e.g., for USS MT. WHITNEY. Particular
emphasis will be placed on expertise in the area of multilevel security
technology. The following are the anticipated labor categories and
total estimated hours: Project Engineer -- 200 hours, senior principal
engineer -- 1800 hours, senior engineer -- 500 hours, engineer --
500hours, computer programmer -- 400 hours, engineering assistant --
300 hours, engineering technician -- 300 hours, administrative analyst
-- 500 hours, technical typist -- 500 hours. Interested firms shall

experience that is relative to the effort. The information shall be
