Bechtel Nevada is seeking sources to provide and install an intergrated multiservice wide-area-network(WAN) backbone switching system inclusive of hardware, software, and services to satisfy networking requirements at the Nevada Test Site (NTS) in support of Department of Energy Nevada Operations (DOE/NV). The WAN backbone switching system shall be capable of carrying data, voice and video traffic to multiple locations using existing DS-3 circuits, and allow connection to a local public Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) cloud via OC3c leased circuits. Installation services shall include project schedules and timelines, detailed service cut-over plans and schedules for existing data and voice services, and all system documentation and operation manuals. All hardware and software components shall be of new manufacture and manufactured by a single OEM source. The system components must be received no later than September 30, 1998, with installation and training accomplished and accepted no later than December 30, 1998.
