D -- STERLING CONTRACT EXTENSION SYNOPSIS POC Sandy Ainsworth, Contract Specialist, 410-786-5143 The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) intends to enter into negotiations with Sterling Software, Storage Management Division, and issue a modification to contract number 500-95-0022 to extend the contract for a 36 month option renewal from June 30, 1998 through June 29, 2001. The procurement will be conducted under other than full and open competition, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) for the following Group 80 software products: SAMS:Disk (DMS); Basic System: VSAM Support, TSO Command Processor, TSO/ISPF Interface, Volume Control, RACF Interface, and Stand Alone Restore Options; SAMS:Allocate (VAM) with Quota; SAMS:Vantage; SAMS:Vantage Selectable Units, SAMS:Disk Reporting and SAMS:SMS Plus. The licenses are for proprietary software inclusive of annual maintenance and customer support for Sterling Software currently installed at the HCFA Data Center. Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements. If no affirmative written documentation is received within fifteen (15) days of this synopsis, HCFA will proceed with negotations to issue a contract modification to Sterling Software.
