The work is situated south of Farmington, New Mexico, in San Juan County. The principal components of the work are: sitework includes clearing vegetation and rubbish from areas to be excavated. Earthwork includes: excavation and placing and compacting backfill for unit substation foundations and pullboxes and gravelfill. Concrete work includes: cast-in-place reinforced concrete for unit substation foundations; furnishing and installing precast concrete pullboxes. Metalwork includes: furnishing and installing a single switch-operating platform, pullbox cover and modifying steel pole structure. Electrical work includes: constructing approximately 24,000 feet of wood-pole 34.5 kilovolt distribution line; furnishing and installing three 34.5 kilovolt unit substations; furnishing and installing fiber optic cable and equipment; furnishing and installing ground cable, electrical conduit and 600-volt rated insulated conductors and removing existing switchgear at eleven locations.
