ITEM DESCRIPTION: The AN/URY is a transponder that is software-configured to perform the function of a relay, reporter, or responder. It provides radio link communication at 141MHz between itself and any other R3 unit. The R3 unit has a fully programmable logic section and two I/O ports. It consists of two modules assembled around an aluminum chassis. The bottom module houses a Receiver and Transmitter Assembly which includes two printed circuit boards (PCBs). SCOPE OF MODIFICATION: The modification consists of replacing the R/T module and modifying some of the components in the power supply module. The conversion consists of replacing approximately one-half of the working assembly. DELIVERY SCHEDULE: Government requires receipt of initial modified units by Mar/Apr '99, at a delivery rate of fifteen (15) units per month. Duration of modification effort should not exceed one (1) year. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The government owns the rights to data for the 141MHz assembly, however, the manufacture (L3 Communications, Conic Division (formerly Microcom Div.)), subsequently modified the assembly to operate at 433.1MHz for a foreign customer. The data rights for the modified assembly are not owned by the Government. This contract may include government options for the procurement of long lead R3 spare parts and R3 repair services on a Time and Material basis.
