Development (USAID) is contemplating the award of a five (5) year
Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF). The
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Design Services (MEDS) is an activity under
the Office of Health and Nutrition of the Global Bureau (G/PHN/HN)
Results Packages for Basic Support for Child Survival, Mothercare, and
Micronutrient Interventions Support. The objective of the activity is
to provide G/PHN/HN, Regional Bureaus, and Missions with flexible
access to a range of technical expertise needed to design and evaluate
program activities in a systematic and sector wide manner in pursuit
of the Agency's strategic objectives in health and nutrition. The MEDS
activity serves as the pricipal mechanism available to USAID
management units for tasks related to the design and evaluation of
programs in the areas of maternal and child health, and nutrition. It
will provide a systematic and sector wide approach to design and
evaluation. Thus, methodologies, procedures, and indicators will be
comparable across countries, regions, and time. All questions related
to this notice and requests for a copy of the RFP must be addressed in
writing, by fax (202-216- 3052) or by internet, to the Contracting
Officer at the address stated above. Specify the RFP requested, and
include your complete firm name, street address, phone and fax number
and the method of distribution which you prefer (internet, disk or
paper copy). No telephone requests will be honored. The issuance date
of the RFP is expected to be approximately June 8, 1998. The closing
date for submission of the proposals, to be specified in the RFP, will
be approximately thirty (30 days thereafter. The preferred method of
distribution of USAID procurement information is primarily via the
internet or secondarily by request of a solicitation on a 3.5" floppy
disk (Wordperfect 5.1/5.2 format, disk to be provided by the
requestor). Only in instances where internet access or utilization of
diskettes are not possiblewill a hard copy of the RFP be distributed
upon request. This CBD notice and the RFP once issued, can be viewed
