The Office of Public Health and Science/Office of Minority Health through the Program Support Center, General Acquisition Branch plans to award a 12 month sole source Simplified Acquisition to the North Carolina Department of Environment,Health/Natural Resources. The contractor will provide services to strengthen the communication networks that link the State Office of Minority Health (NCOMH)to minority communities throughout the state through the implementation of two components:1. Marketing and outreach efforts; and 2. A Minority Health Resources Database. The work will allow NCOMH to more effectively partner with and reach minority communities. The contractor will collaborate with the State Center for Health Statistics and the Division of Women's and Children's Health in the development of a comprehensive document updating the present health care needs and barriers to health services for African Americans. Develop an Agenda for Action identifying issues highlighted during the Governor's Minority Health Conference, held in October, 1997. Anticipated award date is June 9, 1998.
