This project consists of 5.081 km of grading, drainage, base, paving, precast post tension bridge, & retaining walls. Project includes: construction survey & staking; construction scheduling; contractor sampling & testing; temporary traffic control; permanent traffic control; 11,000 ton hot asphalt concrete pavement; 3,850 sq meter asphalt pavement milling; 9.1 hectare clearing & grubbing; 2.1 hectare selective clearing; 291m concrete barriers & precast guardwalls; 226 cu meter structural concrete; 4 trapezoidal girders 1.62m x 18.804m; 12,000 ton untreated aggregate courses; 345m culverts & drains; 248,000 cu meter excavation & embankment; 2,000 cu meter watering; 15,000 sq meter roadway obliteration; 3,450 sq meter geotextiles; 1,660m guardrail system G4, type IV, Class A; 90,760 sq meter topsoil; 11,560kg reinforcing steel; 18,540kg epoxy coated reinforcing steel; 341 sq meter MSE wall; 978m placed riprap ditch lining; 400m controlled blast hole; 1,600m guardrail removal; 2,000 hr flagger; 19,000m permanent pavement markings; 40,000 sq meter erosion control mat, Type I; and other smaller items of work. This project is located on Hwy 35 approximately 53km north of Hood River, Oregon. The Government will issue this solicitation through the use of compact disk (CD-ROM). The plans, specifications, and other bid documents will be available in electronic format on CD-ROM only and will be provided free of charge. The disk will stand alone, i.e., no installation required, with bid documents in (.pdf) file format; drawings in (.cal) Group 4 raster format; and viewing/printing software. The number of compact disks will be limited to one (1) per firm. Any amendments made to this solicitation will be issued in paper format to all plan holders. All bid forms, bid bonds, and other documents required for the bid submittal shall be submitted to FHWA in paper format only. Electronic format for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed. Work shall be completed by September 1, 2000. Estimated price range is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000.
