transportation and supervision required to: Replace steel bulkhead wall
pile cap, wood curb and walers; saw cut asphalt and concrete pavement,
remove concrete and excavate behind wall to replace pile cap, and
backfill and pave with concrete; provide new wood treated wood fender
piles and timber wales; remove and reset existing timber wales to
replace steel wales system; remove rust, clean and paint steel bulkhead
with epoxy paint above waterline; provide 12 cubic yards of top soil
and fill sinkholes behind wall, grade seed and over with straw all
disturbed areas of grass lawn; demolish abandoned fire pump pad and
extract sheet pile support system; replace 60 LF wooden wave barrier
beneath concrete boat dock; patch underwater holes in steel bulkhead
wall with welded steel plates; remove and reset existing electrical
conduits and compressed air conduits on top of pile cap and
re-establish electrical and compressed air service to waterfront when
complete; perform underwater inspection of sheet pile bulkhead wall and
note any additional holes; and, provide new 12 inch mooring cleats.
Work to be performed at U. S. Coast Guard Station Hobucken, NC. This
procurement is estimated between $100K and $250K and is open to both
large and small businesses under the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration Program. The applicable SIC Code is 1629. Bid opening is
on/or about 9 July 1998. Completion time is 100 DANTP. The bid opening

accepted until supply is exhausted. A non-refundable deposit of $15.00
is required in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, or
money order made payable to the "U. S. Coast Guard." Cash will not be

notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation
(DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU),
has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding
assistance for transportation related contracts. This is applicable to
any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding
Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and
performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an
80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP), at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
