MECHALS (503) 808-4619 (Site Code DACW57) The Portland District proposes to issue a purchase order for trail repair to include: 1) Design, delivery and construction of a wooden footbridge with a 75' span (shall match existing footbridges) 2) Site preparation, to include excavatation and installation of footbridge abutments and a gabion center pier. Gravel for gabions will be government furnished but shall require screening by contractor prior to hauling and placing; 3) It is the Government's belief that delivery of footbridge and materials should be by helicopter/Air Crane services; 4) Relocate an existing wooden footbridge to within the same area as new footbridge. This existing footbridge will connect to the new footbridge, as a gangway, at the center pier described in (2). Access to work site is limited to small trail equipment, trail width is limited to 2' in many areas. Estimated range is $25,000 to $100,000.
