Armament Command, Research, Development and Engineering Center
(TACOM/ARDEC) has a requirement for 75,000 each M795, 155mm, High
Explosive projectile metal parts in accordance with a Government
Technical Data Package. An option quantity exercisable up to an
additional quantity of 75,000 each M795, 155mm H.E. metal parts will
also be included in the solicitation. The projectile shells are to be
made from high fragmentation steel and require specialized welding
skills and equipment. The prospective contractor shall provide for all
the necessary labor, materials, supplies, services, facilities, and
equipment (specialized or otherwise) to perform the requirements of the
contract. The Government does not intend to sponsor or procure
facilities for the manufacture of the M795 projectile. Any costs
associated with facilitization that a prospective offeror intends to
pass along to the Government should be part of the proposed unit price.
This item consists of a gilding metal rotating band which encircles a
high fragmentation steel body near its base. A flexible rotating band
cover will also be included as a line item in the solicitation. The
Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract for this
effort. This proposed acquisition is restricted to United States and
Canadian based manufacturers only. The solicitation will be issued on
or about June 12, 1998 with proposals due approximately 30 days later.
This solicitation will be available for downloading from the World
Wide Web Electronic Commerce Home Page available at the following
address: http://procnet.pica.army.mil. The Technical Data Package (TDP)
is a restricted document and will be supplied via a CD ROM. In order to
receive a copy of the TDP, a contractor will have to be certified by
the US/Canada Joint Certification Office utiliizing DD Form 2345.
Offerors are encouraged to begin this process immediately in order to
avoid any delays which would affect timely submission of a proposal.
