47 -- DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF AN EDDY CURRENT MEASUREMENT FACILITY AT THE DEPERMING FACILITY SUBMARINE BASE, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA SOL N47408-98-Q-3762 POC Contract Specialist Anita Norris (202) 433-5310/FAX (202) 433-5244 Contracting Officer Rita Palmore The work includes all labor and materials for the design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, packaging and delivery of eighty-four (84) fiberglass tubes. Each tube will have the following dimensions: Outer diameter = 8.625 inches (+0.020 inches); Wall thickness=0.140 inches (+0.075/-0.0 inches); Length = 26 feet. All fiberglass tubes and fittings shall conform to the applicable requirements of ASTM 2310 and ASTM 2996. Tubes shall be manufactured from continuous glass roving impregnated with vinyl ester, polyester, or epoxy resin and wound under controlled tension around a highly polished steel mandrel. The content of the structural wall shall be 60 to 70 percent resins (by weight). Silica sans or other fillers shall not be permitted.. The inner wall shall be resin rich with no exposed fibers. The manufactured tubes shall be capable of withstanding normal handling, shipment, and range installation procedures. This procurement will be 100% set-aside for small business. Requests for the solicitation may be mailed to Naval Facilities Engineering Command Contracts Office, Washington Navy Yard (WNY), Bldg 218, 901 M Street, SE, Washington, DC 20374-5063 or sent via facsimile by using (202) 433-5244. Contractors within the local area are encouraged to prearrange, by contacting the contract specialist noted above, to pick up a copy of the solicitation at Bldg 218 (third floor) of the WNY between the hours of 0730 and 1500, Monday-Friday. There will be no charge for these documents, however, there will only be one set issued per contractor. The solicitation will be available approximately fifteen (15) days after this notice appears in the Commerce Business Daily. The proposal due date shall be fifteen (15) days after the solicitation is made available to the public. The projected award date is July 1998.
