HOSE DUE 071598 POC Rebecca Li (810) 574-4152 E-MAIL: Click here to
contact the buyer via e-mail, lireb@cc.tacom.army.mil. The Petroleum &
Water Business Area of the US Army TACOM-TARDEC in Warren, MI is
requesting expressions of interest from industries and organizations
that are able to develop or produce high pressure hoses using
lightweight material. The intention of this effort is to replace the
existing hose and pipe line systems for both water and fuel
distribution. The mission is to reduce system employment time and
increase distribution capacity. The existing pipeline system is a
rapid-deployment, general support, bulk fuel storage and pipeline
system. It utilizes aluminum pipes as a mean to transport large
quantities of bulk fuel to the soldiers; pumping from a 800 GPM pump
and running at a maximum capacity of 740 psi. The pipes have a 6-inch
inner diameter and weight approximately 6 lb/ft. Ideal hose lines shall
be lightweight (less than 6 lb/ft), collapsible (able to put on a hose
reel for easy installation), and have high pressure capability (at
least 450 psi to 750 psi). The hoseline shall also have a minimum of
6-inch inner diameter. The high pressure hoseline shall be applied for
both the water and fuel distribution systems. Interested parties are
invited to respond to this Sources Sought Announcement by providing the
company history, description of the company products, the estimated
cost, and or the ability to develop the described item above. In
addition, provide any general drawings, diagrams, or brochures that
would assist in describing your products or ideas. Materials shall be
mailed to US Army TACOM, AMSTA-TR-D/210 (Rebecca Li), Warren, MI
48397-5000. Currently there is no funding in this area, but our
interest in investigating advanced technologies may eventually result
in procurement action to replace the equipment. If you specifically
request, all the information and documentation will be treated as
proprietary. The U.S. Army will retain all information and
documentation provided. The effort you expend and information you
submit in response to this request shall be provided at no cost to the
Government. Any information submitted under this effort will become
property of the U.S. Government. (0147) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0012 19980529\B-0004.SOL)
