Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation
(DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU),
has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance
for transportation related contracts. Loans are available under DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
$500,000.00. For further information and applicable forms concerning
the STLP, please call the OSDBU (800) 532-1169. To supply equipment
labor and materials required to install 33, 90 feet pilings, including
wale timbers and wharf chocks. There is a time frame that must be
adhered to from July 28, 1998 through August 2, 1998 when the berth
will be vacant. Repairs will be done at Poland Avenue Warehouse in New
Orleans, LA. Any interested firm may request a copy of the
solicitation in writing by stating name, firm and solicitation number.
All responsible offers may submit bids, which shall be considered by
