Naval Air System Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award the 1998 Harpoon Weapon System Production contract. This requirement includes the procurement of Harpoon missiles and all related equipment, services, and documentation. NAVAIR intends to award this effort to McDonnell Douglas Corp., a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516. McDonnell Douglas is the sole developer, designer, and manufacturer of the Harpoon Weapon System and the only known firm with the necessary knowledge, data, equipment, facilities and experience to perform this effort within the required time frame.
