69 -- MILES COMMUNICATION CODE 97 (MCC97) STANDARD INDUSTRY COMMENTS DUE 080798 POC Raymond J. Fegal, Contracting Officer, 407-380-4372 Simulation Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM) wishes to have industry provide comment on the MILES Communication Code 97 (MCC97) Standard. This Standard defines the MILES Communication Code Structure for encoding/decoding weapon type, ammunition type, player identification, and weapon/ammunition lethality effects information transported through the MILES intra-system communication channels and interfaces and through interfaces with external systems. These systems are used in the DOD Live exercise simulations for control of player interface actions on the training field of battle. This standard, when invoked, will define how the live training systems of the future will solve the interface issues for fielded systems. The purpose of this request is provide industry the opportunity to influence the standard's development prior to implementation.
