This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared
in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and
a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation ACD-8-Q-0019 is
issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through
Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. The Standard Industrial Code is
7641, Reupholster and Furniture Repair. The Small Business Size
Standard is $5 Million. The resulting contract will be a Firm-Fixed
Price, Contract. Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 0001, Paint and
Recover Herman Miller Panels (Panels and Fabric to be furnished by the
Government, 160 each; CLIN 0002, Paint Finished Ends provided by the
Government, 72 each; CLIN 0003, Paint Draw Rods furnished by the
Government, 56 each; CLIN 0004, Paint 3-Way Connectors furnishedby the
Government, 3 each; CLIN 0005, Provide Base Power Entry, 9 each; CLIN
0006, Provide Base Power Adapter (48"), 81 each; CLIN 0007, Provide
Side Covers, 79 each; CLIN 0008, Provide Receptacles, 24 BX (6 per BX);
CLIN 0009, Provide Finished Ends Base Trim Cover, 72 each; CLIN 0010,
Provide 4-Way Connectors, 9 each; CLIN 0011, Provide 4-Way Base Trim
cover, 9 each; CLIN 0012, Provide 3-Way Connectors, 33 each; CLIN 0013,
Provide 3-Way Base Trim cover, 33 each; CLIN 0014, Provide Draw rods,
16 each; CLIN 0015, Receptacles, circuit D isolated ground, 72 each;
CLIN 0016, Receptacles, circuit A, 72 each; CLIN 0017, Provide
Transportation to Brownsville, 1 load; and CLIN 0018, Provide
Installation, 1 Job. The contractor shall furnish the labor, tools,
equipment, and vehicles to refurbish and install Herman Miller Panels
and accessories and provide additional accessories as identified in the
CLINs. The power requirements shall be 8 wire, 4 circuit. All
electrical components/wiring shall be NEW. All items provided by the
contractor shall be in the color "Smoke". All items required to be
painted shall be in the color "Smoke". The contractor shall submit
samples of proposed color "Smoke" for approval and concurrence by the
Contracting Officer. The contractor shall provide the labor and
equipment necessary to pick up and load the fabric, panels and
accessory parts at the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)
warehouse, 414 Union Bower Court, Irving, Texas. The point of contact
for this pick up is Ray Nichols, (214) 905-5541. On completion of the
refurbishing and purchase of new product, all items shall be
transported to the U.S. Border Patrol Station, 1124 Central Boulevard,
Brownsville, Texas. The point of contact for Brownsville is Ernie
Castillo, (956) 542-3585. The contractor shall install 36 Herman Miller
workstations. Each workstation shall be 12' x 12'(144 sf). There will
be nine (9) groupings of four (4) workstations. Drawings shall be made
available upon request. The contractor will not install any
worksurfaces or flip cabinets. Installation shall begin July 1, 1998
and be completed no later than July 15, 1998. FAR 52.212-1,
Instructions to Offerors-Commercial applies to this acquisition. Award
will be made to the lowest responsible quote. Quotes shall include a
completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations
and Certifications-Commercial Items. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and
