The remodeling will include asbestos and lead paint abatement, demolition, architectural, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work. This project will be staged into two phases to allow for partial occupancy and to keep disruption to a minimum. Phase I will remodel the west end of the first and basement floors and Phase II will remodel the east end of the first and basement floors. This phasing will allow for the design and integration of the HVAC systems on each end, the occupation of the east end while remodeling the west end (Phase I), and occupation of the west end while remodeling the east end (Phase II). Remodeling work includes, but is not limited to the following: cutting and patching, minor demolition for remodeling, asbestos removal, lead paint removal, concrete, carpentry work, batt insulation, joint sealers, hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, door hardware, coling doors, glazing, gypsum board systems, veneer plaster, suspended acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, carpet, painting, plastic signs, toilet and bath accessories, plumbing and fire protection work, HVAC work, and electrical work. The estimated magnitude of the proposed procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Plans and specifications are available on CD-ROM; no paper copies will be available.
