Corps Systems Command intends to negotiate a sole source, commercial
item contract with Raytheon TI Systems, Dallas, Texas. The contractor
will be required to provide Raytheon NightSights W10009 (P/N 3182543)
and associated equipment consisting of the following: Weapon Adapter
Rail (for M4 Carbine)(P/N 3113806), 9-Volt Battery Cassette (P/N
3138507-1), Adapter, SMA-to-BNC (P/N 1996272-1), Auxiliary Power Cable
(P/N 3138515-1), Storage/Shipping Case (P/N 3182529-1), Soft-sided
Carrying Bag for Lenses (P/N 3182529-1), Hand Strap (P/N 3138487-1),
Weapon Adapter Rail (for M240) and initial training package. This
equipment will be used in support of an experimental program being
conducted by the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL). This
experimental program requires an uncooled thermal weapons sight that is
rugged and weighs less than four (4) pounds with batteries. The system
must have a minimum detection range of 900 meters (for personnel) and
should have an image resolution greater than65,000 pixels. It must
also be adaptable to the M16A2, M4 and M240 rifles and should operate
off both military and commercial (9volt and AA) batteries. The system
is required by 01 July 1998. No RFP is available for competitive
bidding; however, interested parties may submit a statement of
capability for satisfying this requirement within 15 days of this
announcement to the Contact Person listed above. See Numbered Note 22!!
