Type of contract will be a requirements contract. Successful completion of solicitation identified first article testing will be included as a prerequisite to continuance of contract performance. The Deep Blue XBTs will be required to operate in depths ranging from 0m to 760m; from ships traveling up to 25 knots; and with accuracies +/- 2% of depth or 5 meters. Temperature resolution of 0.015 degree C or better is required. Length of contract is anticipated as one base year and three option years. The total estimated quantity of Deep Blue XBT probes that may be purchased over the three year period is 96,000 probes. Requests for the solicitation shall be made in writing.
