Department at Naval EOD Technology Division has a requirement for
fabrication of an injection molded tripod. The tripod will be used to
support small energetic tools that weigh approximately 2 to 3 pounds.
The vendor will manufacture molds for all parts, fabricate components
for 20 sample tripods, and upon approval of the sample tripods,
fabricate components for 1000 tripods. Each tripod consist of one
tripod base, two pivot arm sections, one pivot base, six tripod legs
and one stop pin. Material Properties: The resin for use in the molding
process shall be an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS). The
contractor shall ensure the final properties of the molded parts meet
the following criteria: Tensile Strength (min): 35 MPa, Flexural
Modulus (min): 2000 MPa, Izod Impact (notched, min): 300J/m, Softening
Temp (min): 85 C, Color: Black (preferred), any dark color
(acceptable). Critical requirements are specified in the Statement of
Work and drawings, which will be made available upon request by faxing

Simplified Acquisition Procedures ($100,000 or less)are set-aside for
