D -- R-AXIS IV IMAGING PLATE SYSTEM (RIGHT PORT CONFIGURATION) SOL RFQ-98-352 DUE 061598 POC Desiree Kelly, Purchasing Agent 301-594-7731 The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase R-Axis IV Imaging Plate (Right Configuration) and accessories from Molecular Structure Corporation, 3200 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381. The Institute intends to purchase this equipment by other than full and open competition from Molecular Structure Corporation to the best of the knowledge of the Government is the sole manufacturer and distributor of this requirement. This action is under the authority of 41.U.S.C.. 253 =A9 (1) as set fourth in the FAR = 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306-302-1. This product is needed for high quality data collection which is essential for macromolecular structure determination. The detector will be mounted on an existing x-ray generator and the current x-ray optics will be used without modifications. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which = if timely received, shall be in within the Simplified Acquisition = Threshold for Commercial Purchases up to $5 million. It is anticipated that Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-98-352 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due fifteen (15) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is June 25, 1998.
