Z -- INSTALL NEW FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM, BUILDINGS 273 AND 601-5B, NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY, NEW ORLEANS, LA SOL N62467-98-B-7092 DUE 073198 POC Marlene Crawford (504) 678-2150 The work includes the removal of existing halon fire suppression systems from a paint spray booth in Building 273 and from a computer room in Building 601-5B, the removal of associated piping, controls, and sensors, and demolition of electrical service to the halon systems back to the source. For Building 273, install a 4" tap on an existing 6" cast iron water line, install 4" mechanical joint ductile iron pipe with retainer glands and stainless steel tie rods, tunnel under building to the point of the riser, construct a dry pipe sprinkler system, and install a fire alarm system. For Building 601-5B, install new smoke detectors compatible with and connected to the building fire alarm system, extend the building sprinkler system to provide wet sprinkler heads below the raised computer room floor, and install a panel to contain control and monitoring modules that will replace the similar functions of the demolished halon system panel and incidental related work. Estimated Cost Range: $100,000 to $250,000. The due date of 31 July 1998 is an estimated date. The proposed procurement will be issued on an unrestricted basis.
