The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to award a contract for 6,000 Low Energy Exploding Foil Initiators (LEEFI) to Reynolds Systems, Inc. (RSI), P. O. Box 1229, Middletown, CA 95461-1229. These items are to be manufactured in accordance with Silicon Designs, Inc. (SDI) drawing number 1-130-00002 by part number 1-130-00002-03 LEEFI, Hermetic, LCC-20/Mod 12 with explosive, NAWC-002 Chip, Serialized in support of the STANDARD Missile Program. RSI is the only company qualified by Sandia National Laboratory to press the explosive HNS-IV; this fact precludes consideration of another manufacturer. See CBD Note 22.
