issue an Invitation for Bids IFB for RESTORATION OF THE HIGH PRESSURE
NITROGEN GAS SUPPLY SYSTEM, BLDG. 4659. The work to be performed under
this project consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials
to perform the installation of GFE high pressure liquid nitrogen
pumps; installation of new piping supporting pump modules; and
installation of controls and power supporting pump modules. Ancillary
work, such as necessary demolition and utility tie-ins, will be
required as noted by the construction documents. The work consists of
removing liquid nitrogen pump modules 2 and 4 and their related piping
and installing new GFE pump modules and related piping and electrical
components. Option 1 consists of cleaning and running piping to Tanks
5 and 6 as shown on drawings. All requst for solicitation must be made
in writing, addressed to the point of contact and accompied by a
cashiers check in the amount of $50.00 (Fifty dollars) made payable to
"NASA CASHIER". Request must state complete business name, address,
phone and fax numbers. The order of magnitude for the procurement is
BETWEEN $500,000.00 AND $1,000,000.00 and the effort shall be completed
within 270 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is
part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The
SIC Code and small busines size standard for this procurement are 1711
and $7.0M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on
or about JUNE 05,1998 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or
about JULY 07, 1998. The provisions and clauses in the solicitation are
those in effect through FAC 97 -- 4. The firm date for receipt of bids
will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Bid
Distribution Office. All responsible qualified sources may submit a bid
which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been
appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents
related to this procurement will NOT be available over the Internet.
