Z -- PAINT AND REPAIR WATER STORAGE TANKS 2580 & 2581 SOL DAKF19-98-B-0013 DUE 080698 POC Contract Specialist CHARISSE JACKSON (785) 239-0478 (Site Code DAKF19) The Contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, materials, supplies, equipment and transportation and perform all required work in accordance with the plans and specifications for painting of and minor repairs to the interior and exterior of ground Water Storage Tanks 2580 & 2581. The principle features of the project include: (1) Water Storage Facility 2580 (500,000 gallon ground storage tank) -- Near white metal blast clean existing mill scale, rust and paint from interior surfaces of roof superstructure and roof of the metal water storage tank. Repaint all previously painted interior surfaces of roof superstructure and roof of the metal water storage tank with two part epoxy paint system. Commercial blast clean existing mill scale, rust and loose paint from the exterior surfaces of metal water storage facility and all attached items. Repaint all previously painted exterior surfaces of metal water storage facility with alkyd enamel paint system. Remove and reinstall warning light. Remove valve pit and valves. Inspect and make repairs to existing cathodic protection system. Disinfect the water storage tank and (2) Water Storage Facility 2581 (500,000 gallon ground storage tank) -- Near white metal blast clean existing mill scale, rust and paint from interior surfaces of roof superstructure and roof of the metal water storage tank. Repaint all previously painted interior surfaces of roof superstructure and roof of the metal water storage tank with two part epoxy paint system. Commercial blast clean existing mill scale, rust and loose paint form the exterior surfaces of metal water storage facility and all attached items. Repaint all previously painted exterior surfaces of metal water storage facility with alkyd enamel paint system. Remove and reinstall warning light. Paint valve pit lids, frames, valves and piping. Install air vent in valve pit. Inspect and make repairs to existing cathodic protection system. Disinfect the water storage tank. Prepare, maintain and submit as-built drawings as required. Invitation for bid will be issued on or about 09 Jul 98 with a bid opening on or about 06 Aug 98. Proposed contract will be firm fixed price type contract. The estimated cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 1721, with the small business size standard of $7.0M in annual receipts.
