Z -- CONSTRUCT NORTH RAMP OIL/WATER SEPARATOR SOL YTPM 95-7004 DUE 062298 POC Michael I LaFortune, Contracting Officer or Donald P Hebert, Contract Specialist at 413/557-2603 Project YTPM 95-7004, Construct North Ramp Oil/Water Separator consists of constructing a reinforced concrete basin approximately 72'X 37'X 16" which will serve as an oil/water separator for two (2) existing storm water lines draining a large portion of the runway system at this facility. Connect the basin to the existing storm water drainage system (72" X 54" reinforced concrete pipes) by approximately 200' of new 24" HDPE corrugared pipe. Install two (2) new manhole structures approximately 20' deep, one at the intersection of each old and new piping system. Install two (2) new 24" high water diversion structures, one in each of the two (2) existing storm water pipes at the intersection of the old and new pipes. Install a new 7' high chain link fence with barbed wire and two (2) 12' openings with swinging gates around the concrete basin. Grade the earth from the top of the basin back to existing elevations at a slope of approximately 30%. Approximately 5500 cubic yards of sandy type soil will be excavated; about 3000 cubic yards of which will be hauled to a Government stockpile located approximately 1 mile away. The project is located within a 100' wetland buffer zone and is adjacent to two Massachusetts State-Listed endangered species habitats. An erosion and sedimentation control plan must be strictly adhered to. De-watering of the site will be necessary because of the level of the groundwater in the area. Access to the construction site may be limited due to airfield activities. Bid issue on or about July 06, 98. Bid opening on or about August 17, 98. Performance period will be two hundred seventy (270) calendar days. Estimated cost of construction is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00.
