70 -- LEASE OF B & L SOFTWARE SOL SB0400-8152-1001 DUE 061898 POC POC Mary Wingfield (804) 279-3930 The Defense Supply Center Richmond, Richmond, VA intends to issue a purchase order to B & L Associates, Inc., Needham, MA for lease of B & L Software; consisting of BL/LIB, BL/DIST, BL/PACK, BL/SOURCE, and BL/SCHED. The software will be leased for a period of one(1) year. The software products include Tape Library Management, Source Control, Print Distribution Control and Scheduling. The lease provides a software product that will allow printouts from the DADMS system(NIMA) to be sent to a server. The user can then view the report on line and choose to print all or any portion of the report on a desktop printer. It will also tape archive these reports which will allow the user to request and view an older report. The Government intends to solicit only one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). This is not a call for proposals. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days of its publication and shall submit in writing, it's name, address, point of contact, telephone numbers, business size and a brief statement regarding it's capability to provide the software required. Also, please provide the names, telephone numbers, and points of contact for businesses or other Government agencies to which it has previously provided similar items. No response will be provided to those inquiries which fail to provide the information requested. This information shall be submitted to the address stated herein or may be faxed to (804) 279-3246. This is not a request for proposals and there is no Request for Quotation available at this time. A determination by the Government not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no qualified responses are received, the Government intends to contract with B & L Associates, Inc.
