REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON TACTICAL COMBAT IDENTIFICATION Tactical Combat Identification. The United States Government wishes to gather information on the technologies available in the area of tactical combat identification. This Request for Information (RFI) seeks to gather data on ground-to-ground and air-to-ground methodologies for determining the friend or foe status of a target. The types of targets of interest are military vehicles such as tanks, armored personnel carriers, ect. and dismounted soldiers. Specific target identification such as type of vehicle is not a requirement. All methods and technologies that can identify targets are desired. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
