AUTOMATED CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (ACMS) MARKET RESEARCH This announcement constitutes a Request for Information synopsis and MARKET RESEARCH. Information obtained is for planning purposes only. It does not constitute an invitation for sealed bid or request for proposal nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) is currently conducting a market survey and analysis to identify if an automated configuration management system (ACMS) is available. The ACMS will provide the Army with a next generation configuration management and product data management system. It will enable greater access to and sharing of enterprise product data in support of integrated product teams; engineering change action processing; together with reprocurement, operations, maintenance and disposal activities. The primary enhancements ACMS will provide include (a) storage and use, (b) rapid retrieval, (c) process automation and (d) Year 2000 compliant. Any offeror having an item which meets the performance specification characteristics, in whole or in part, should complete the market survey questionnaire and provide a response to this data call by no later than 16 JUNE 1998.
