S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Connecticut. The work includes, but is not limited to, construction of bathrooms within existing berthing rooms, conversion of existing, galley, dining and recreation facilities to office and berthing spaces; conversion of gang shower and toilet areas to recreation, laundry and berthing spaces; new mechanical, electrical systems and fire protection systems; replacement of windows, doors and roof; seismic reinforcement; and remediation of asbestos, lead based paint and PCB contaminated materials. The work also includes Optional Bid Items 1:through 3. Optional Bid Item 1: Provide a new roof (the existing roof shall remain under the base bid). Optional Bid Item 2: Provide battery powered keyless entry locks (provide hotel guest lock type hardware as the base bid). Provide Direct Digital Controls (DDC) for the berthing room fan coil units. Optional Bid Item 3: Provide landscaping, including plantings, mulch and seeding. Provide curtain wall at stairwell # 2. Provide mini blinds. The solicitation is unrestricted IAW the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
