The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a FY-99 firm fixed-price contract with four annual fixed price options to Tracor Systems Technologies, Inc., 1601 Research Blvd, Rockville, MD 20850-3173. Under this contract, including options, Tracor will manufacture a total of ten Product Improvement Program (PIP) Field Change Kits (FCKs), associated Maintenance Assistance Modules (MAMS), Installation and Checkout Spares (INCOS), and associated technical documentation for the AN/SPN-46(V)1 Automatic Carrier Landing System. Tracor is the current producer of functional PIP FCK's and has developed engineering change proposals (ECPs), that make the field change functional with the AN/SPN-46(V). Updated level III drawings suitable for reprocurement are not available. Tracor is the only company that can produce functional PIP field change kits to improve the reliability, maintainability and flight safety of the AN/SPN-46(V). See Note 22. (0154)
