B. Clutz (301) 619-2395 The US Army Research Institute of Infectious
Diseases (USAMRIID), Buildings 1412, 1425 and 1301, Ft. Detrick,
Frederick, Maryland 21702-5011 has a requirement to ensure that all
Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC) and Chemical Fume Hoods (CFH), located
in USAMRIID are certified in accordance with (IAW) USAMRIID Regulation
385-7 and National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Standard # 49 which is
the industry accepted standard for certification of BSC and CFH. The
Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor for on-site monitoring,
certification, preventive maintenance, repair, installation and
decontamination of BSC and CFH. The Government will provide on-site
storage for materials and equipment, all repair parts, HEPA filters and
chemicals required for decontamination. All work shall be conducted
on-site of Cabinet or Hood to be certified. The Contractor shall be
responsible for effective documentation of Cabinets and Hoods. The
Contractor shall provide all testing and monitoring equipment with a
minimum of two (2) complete sets necessary to conduct certification IAW
NSF#49 (i.e. DOP Generator, Hot Wire Anemometer, Light Meter,
Photometer, Screwdrivers, Wrenches, Ratchets, etc). All test equipment
used by the Contractor must be calibrated and maintained IAW equipment
manufactures and/or NSF#49 guidelines at the Contractor's expense.
Contractor shall provide the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR)
documentation of calibration of test equipment upon request within
fourty-eight (48) hours. The contractor shall provide service personnel
who have had NSF Accrediation and be NSF Accredited and possess
experience in the maintenance, certification, and decontamination of
the types of equipment and facilities previously described.
Immunizations are required to perform the maintenance and repair of BSC
and CFH located in or integral to the biological containment areas of
Bldgs. 1412 and 1425. Immunizations currently required for BSC and CFH
are as follows: Rift Valley Fever, Yellow Fever, Venezuelan Equine
Encephalitis, "Q" Fever, Anthrax and Plague. These vaccines are
currently being used in the containment areas of Bldgs. 1412 and 1425.
It shall be understood that the following vaccines may also be
required at some point in the future: Small Pox, Tularemia, Hepatitis
B, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, Tickborn Encephalitis, Western Equine
Encephalitis, Botulism, Junin, Rabies and Japanese Equine Encephalitis.
It shall be understood by all Contractors that immunizations may be
added or deleted as experiments in the laboratories require. The
contract duration shall be for one (1) Base Year with four (4) one year
options-All requests must be made in writing, FAX requests are
authorized and should be sent to (301) 619-2505. This is not a 100%
small business set-aside action . The SIC Code for this action is 8734
with average annual receipts of not more than $5.0 million-No issuance
