Clutz (301) 619-2395 (Site Code DAMD17) The United States Army has a requirement for Animal Husbandry Services for the Division of Veterinary Medicine at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Forest Glen Annex. Buildings to be serviced are Building 40 at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC; Building 511 at the Forest Glen Annex, Silver Spring, MD and a newly constructed facility (scheduled for completion in the Spring of 1999) adjacent to Building 511 at the Forest Glen Annex, Silver Spring, MD. The contractor will be required to provide the following services within the Government's facilities: routine animal care (housing, feeding, cleaning and recordkeeping), receiving, identification, intra and extra facility transport, inventory services of animals, feed bedding, supplies and existing equipment; sanitation and restraint; program support of animal health surveillance; logistics, maintenance of equipment, cage washing services, collection and disposal of Medical Pathological Waste utilizing Government provided equipment. Services may also be required, on an optional basis for Motor Vehicle Operator, Quality Assurance Technician for Building 40, Laboratory Animal Technologist, Laboratory Animal Technicians, and Surgery Technician Supervisor(s) and Necropsy Technicians. The government anticipates awarding a Firm-fixed price contract with a base year and four (4) options years. The SIC code for this action is 8731, a size standard of 500 employees.
