COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 5,1998 PSA#2110M109 FAMILY OF VEHICLES -- INFORMATION EXCHANGE PAPER The US Army
TACOM-ARDEC Acquisition Center and the Product Manager for
Paladin/FAASV intend to issue an Information Exchange Paper (IEP)
regarding the Fleet Management concept for the M109 Family of Vehicles
(FOV). The purpose of the paper is to generate comments/questions from
industry (both current and prospective suppliers), end users,
Government entities and other interested parties regarding the
feasibility of establishing a Fleet Manager (FM) as the single world
class focal point for the M109 FOV life-cycle sustainment support. The
Army plans to investigate the integration of the M109 FOV supply,
engin- eering and limited life cycle support functions by having one
point of contact and focal point for all M109 FOV life-cycle program
management and weapon system support. Using the information gained from
this exchange, the Government will consider its requirements and the
concepts to develop a draft solicitation to allow the Army to gather
information and assess the viability of the FM concept as aprecursor to
decisions on FM implementation. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION and a
foreign disclosure review has yet to be conducted to determine
eligibility of foreign bidders for future procurement. Interested
parties cannot expect to receive any information regarding Fleet
Management beyond what is contained therein. The paper should be
available at the following Internet addresses by COB 6/5/98:
http://www.pica.army.mil/orgs/paladin/fleet or http://procnet.
army.mil. Respondees to this paper may or may not receive Government
com- met back to their questions. Specific replies will be decided on
a case by case basis by the Government Fleet Management team. PLEASE
NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO HARD COPIES ISSUED OF THIS IEP, NOR WILL ANY
PHONE REQUESTS FOR SAME BE HONORED. WEB: US ARMY TACOM-ARDEC
