interested in obtaining plans and specification for this project, can
mail or fax (215-697-1462) in their request on company letterhead
stating if you are bidding as a prime contractor or
sub-contractor/supplier, your complete address, telephone number and
fax number along with a Company Check, Cashier's check, Money Order in
the amount of $38.00 (THIS CHARGE IS NONREFUNDABLE) to: DEFENSE
AUTOMATED PRINTING OFFICE, BUILDING 4/D, ATTN: ROY BOWSER, 700 ROBBINS
AVE., PHILADELPHIA, PA 19111-5094. Each check must be made payable to
the U.S. TREASURY and annotated with the applicable solicitation
number. Two sets of plans and specifications will be sent via First
Class Mail upon availability to those contractors who have tendered
payment. If a contract number is not annotated as requires or your
check is not made payable to the U.S. TREASURY, your check will be
returned unprocessed. NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. NO PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE ISSUED UNTIL PROPER PAYMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED.

AT (215) 697-6257. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The work includes the removal
and disposal of asbestos containing material from the steam and
condensate system risers serving the convectors on the third and fourth
floors and the steam coils in the penthouse, the plumbing piping on the
first floor, and the boiler unit. Removal and disposa of lead paint
from the mechanical room wall to facilities installation of combustion
air intake. Removal and disposal of existing 1,300 MBH, gas/oil-fired
low pressure steam boiler unit, associated stack, housekeeping pad,
boiler control panel, boiler accessories, and connected piping to
system headers. Removal and disposal of fuel oil piping for the
existing boiler. Removal and disposal of 75-gallon gas-fired water
heater, abandoned 400-gallon domestic hot water storage tank, two(2)
abandoned circulation pumps, associated controls, housekeeping pads,
stack, accessories and connected piping to system headers. Removal and
disposal of boiler ancillary equipment including the 140-gallon duplex
pump feedwater system, two (2) 25-gallon manual chemical feed unit,
associated housekeeping pads, and connected piping. Provision of new
thermostatic steam trap assemblies for building convector units,
realignment of condensate system piping for correct pitch, provide pipe
supports for horizontal condensate system pipe runs, realignment and
attachment of convector covers to the existing terra cotta brick walls.
Provision of 2,300 MBH gas-fired low pressure steam boiler unit, stack,
housekeeping pad, boiler management unit, combustion air intake,
accessories and connected piping in accordance with ASME, NFPA and
Factory Mutual Engineering Standards. Provision of boiler ancillary
systems including 150-gallon duplex pump feedwater system, automatic
chemical feed system, associated housekeeping pads, controls and
connected piping. Provision of thermal insulation on all systems in
which insulation was removed by this work, and on all existing
uninsulated steam, condensate and plumbing system piping. Provisioin of
insulation jacketing on all new and existing steam, condensate and
plumbing system insulation. Provision of floor drainage system in the
mechanical room to facilitate system and equipment drainage to the
existing sanitry sewer. Estimated cost range is $100,000.00-
$250,000.00. The SIC code is 1711 and the Small Business Size Standard
is 7 million are applicable to this contract. The proposed contract
(solicitation) will be issued as unrestricted and is subject to the
evaluation criteria set forth in DFAR 252.219-7008 -- Notice of
Evaluation Preference for Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns --
Construction Acquisitions -- Test Program (APR 1996).(Per the Debt
Collection Improvement Act of 1996, the Defense Federal Acquisition
Regulation (DFAR) has been amended to require all contractors to
register in the Department of Defense (DOD) Central Contractor
Registration (CCR) Database. Be advised for solicitations issued after
May 31, 1998, failure to be registered in the CCR makes an offeror
