The 21st Contracting Squadron intends to establish a contract for purchasing of Redmond Minerals "Ice Slicer" or equal Ice Control Sand requirements and Great Salt Lake Minerals Corp. "Freezgard" or equal, Deicer Fluid requirements; for Peterson AFB, Cheyenne Mountain, Falcon AFB, and the U.S. Air Force Academy CO. "Ice Slicer" is an environmentally approved and accepted non-corrosive, minimal dust pollutant. Produced by Redmond Minerals.Estimated annual requirements -- 5,050 tons per year. "Freezgard", is a low corrosive natural deicer made with synergistic trace minerals, sodium, magnesium, calcium chloride, potassium and grit, anti-caking dispersal it is environmentally safe and anti-corrosive. Produced by Great Salt Lake Minerals Corp. Estimated annual requirements- 234,5000 gallons per year.These chemicals will be used for winter snow and ice removal operations to clear roadways, walkways, driveways, parking lots, etc. This contract will be a local indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract. This contract will be established for a five (5) year period (basic year period plus four (4) option year periods); (FY99 thru FY 2003). Also, the contract contemplated shall allow the local area base engineering activities the option to use the International Merchants Purchase Authorization Card (IMPAC) (up to $2,500) to purchase their respective Sand/Deicer Fluid Requirements.
