Public Health and Science/Office of Minority Health through the Program
Support Center, General Acquisition Branch plans to award a 6 month
sole source Simplified Acquisition to the La Clinica da La Raza. The
Contractor will conduct a study on issues relating to providing health
care coverage for working poor immigrant populations. The focus of the
study will involve the formation of a blue ribbon committee of
nationally-recognized leaders in the health care field who serve as
advisors to the project. Work in Partnership with Asian Health
Services,Inc of Oakland, California. Conduct research on current
policies and health insurance products that attempt to address the
needs of the working poor. Complete an analysis of the issues related
to providing health insurance for the working poor. Complete an
analysis of issues specific to community health centers being able to
offer health care coverage for the working poor population. Conduct two
focus groups with local merchants. Develop a service product to pilot
with one or two local merchants in Oakland, California. Anticipated
