Principal features of the work include the following: (1) Excavation of approximately 3.1 miles of unlined channel [approximately 72,500 cubic yards]; (2) construction of approximately 1,080 feet of township road [approximately 30,000 cubic yards]; (3) installation of a triple cell precast reinforced concrete box culvert under the township road [approximately 96 feet long]; (4) construction of a one acre waterfowl nesting island [approximately 40,000 cubic yards]; (5) riprap and gravel bedding around the ends of the box culverts [approximately 700 cubic yards of riprap and approximately 230 cubic yards of gravel bedding]; (6) gravel surfacing for the township road [approximately 180 cubic yards]. The estimated price range of the work is $500,001 to $1,000,000. The work is located in the upper end of Jamestown Reservoir, approximately 5 miles northeast of Buchanan, North Dakota in Stutsman County. Solicitation packages are anticipated to be available 07/02/98. Requests for solicitations should be received on or before 07/21/98. The bid opening is tentatively scheduled for 08/04/98, at the office of the Bureau of Reclamation, Dakotas Area Office, 304 East Broadway Avenue, Bismarck, North Dakota. The contract is to be completed within approximately 450 days. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation, additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge, at the following offices of the Bureau of Reclamation: Great Plains Regional Office, Room 2031, Federal Building, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana, or Dakotas Area Office, 304 East Broadway Avenue, Bismarck, North Dakota. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation.
